Globalization and Christian Spirituality:
Implications for Adventist Higher
Education Institutions
Abstract. The influence of globalization on contemporary life cannot
be overemphasized. Its effects have been greatly felt in the
continuing quest to maintain an authentic Christian spirituality.
Seventh-day Adventist leaders and educators at Adventist institutions
of higher education need to be aware of the good and bad effects of
globalization in the area of Christian faith development. They need
to explore its advantages and resist its disadvantages to fulfill their
divine mission. The paper proposes that Adventist leaders and
educators need to provide authentic discipleship to enable members
to discerningly address the phenomenon of globalization.
Keywords: Globalization, Christian, spirituality, Seventh-day Adventist,
